Concert Review: Rachel and Keve Chelsea Table and Stage Saturday, October 22nd, 2021 Violinist Rachel Handman and oboist Keve Wilson have been friends since they were kids. I know because at their Chelsea Table and Stage concert the other evening, they told us their story. This story was told through music and through friendly and funny banter in between the pieces, that were played with lots of energy and brilliant execution. The music ranged from Irish folk melodies to 80’s pop hits to Broadway songs and even a new composition that was written for the duo. The eclectic nature of the program was great and the easy going and friendly presentation was exactly what this critic loves. They were having fun while playing sometimes difficult and always very well rehearsed music and the large, almost to capacity, audience was having fun with them for sure. The band that backed them consisted of New York’s top freelancers, including Hidayat Honari - guitar, Marc Schmied - bass, and Mike Ramsey
